The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) announced that more than 300 national entities benefited from the “Cybersecurity Fostering Program for the 1447 AH Hajj Season,” which aims to raise the cyber readiness of technical systems and services provided during this year’s Hajj season, develop national cybersecurity capabilities, and raise cybersecurity awareness among pilgrims and personnel from national entities, thereby contributing to  the enhancement of cybersecurity during the Hajj season and supporting national efforts to fully harness all available capabilities to provide the best services to pilgrims.

The Cybersecurity Fostering Program for Hajj Season 1447 AH includes four primary tracks: «cyber threat detection and response, cyber risks and assessments, cyber drills, and cybersecurity awareness». The program also includes the activation of a round-the-clock cyber operations room dedicated to detecting and analyzing cyber threats, and sharing cyber alerts with relevant national entities. In addition, registering technical assets, services, and systems associated with the Hajj season through the National Cybersecurity Services Portal (Haseen), and developing plans to support the national entities in carrying out cyber assessments of technical systems and services provided during the season, enabling them to provide their services to pilgrims with reliability and safety.

On the cyber drills track, NCA conducted the “Cybersecurity Drills for Hajj Season 1447 AH,” which involved more than 300 national entities represented by over 1,000 cybersecurity experts and professionals. The drill simulates various types of real‑world cyberattacks and incidents, implements response mechanisms, and familiarizes participants with the latest attack techniques. It also includes a series of technical and administrative activities for cybersecurity experts and specialists to develop innovative solutions to cyber challenges associated with the technical systems supporting services offered during the Hajj season, in line with the highest standards and best practices. The drill is carried out on a dedicated platform built, hosted, and operated locally in collaboration with NCA’s technical arm, Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).

In the cybersecurity awareness track, NCA implemented a series of field awareness initiatives to raise cybersecurity awareness among pilgrims and personnel from national entities. These initiatives include organizing interactive cybersecurity awareness exhibitions for pilgrims at the Hajj and Umrah Terminal Complex at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, in collaboration with Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) and Tibah Airports Operation Company, which aim to cultivate a strong cybersecurity culture among the pilgrims using innovative and interactive methods. Additionally, cybersecurity guidelines and other awareness materials were provided to raise awareness among pilgrims in more than 1,000 accommodation facilities across Mecca and Madinah regions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism. As part of national efforts to deliver the best services to pilgrims, NCA held specialized cybersecurity awareness sessions attended by more than 3,500 personnel from national entities participating in this year’s Hajj season.

The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) is the national entity in charge of cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the national reference in all its affairs. It aims to enhance the Kingdom’s cybersecurity posture to safeguard its vital interests, national security, critical infrastructure, priority sectors, and government services and activities. NCA is also responsible for establishing, updating, and monitoring compliance with cybersecurity incident response frameworks, in addition to building national specialized capabilities in cybersecurity. These efforts are designed to cultivate a resilient, secure, and trusted Saudi cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity.
