GCC Cybersecurity Executive Committee Holds Its Fifth Meeting

The Cybersecurity Executive Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held today via video conference its fifth meeting, attended by deputies and representatives of the entities responsible for cybersecurity in the member states. Representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the Deputy Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) for Strategy and International Cooperation, Eng. Abdurahman bin Mohammed Al‑Hassan.

The meeting covered range of topics regarding cybersecurity collaboration across GCC states. The Executive Committee provided an overview of several strategic initiatives and discussed the latest updates on the implementation of the initiatives for the Gulf Cybersecurity Strategy Execution Plan (2024‑2028). Key discussions included progress on the cyber threat information-sharing platform for GCC countries, developed in cooperation with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE). Additionally, the Committee discussed the launch plan for the first season of the "Cyber Gulf" podcast initiative, which comes in cooperation with the Information Security Association in the Kingdom (Hemaya). The initiative aims to highlight Gulf expertise and experiences in the field of cybersecurity.

The Cybersecurity Executive Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is one of the committees affiliated with of the GCC Ministerial Cybersecurity Committee, established in 2021 on a proposal from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is responsible for all cybersecurity matters, seeks to create a resilient, secure, and trusted cyberspace, aligns efforts, improves coordination and cooperation among the member states, and protecting their interests in international organizations related to the field of cybersecurity.
