Key Economic Indicators in the Cybersecurity Sector in the Kingdom 2025

The cybersecurity sector in the Kingdom has been witnessing growth since the establishment of the National Cybersecurity Authority as the competent authority for cybersecurity in the Kingdom and the national reference in all related matters. The foundation of this sector was comprehensively initiated, covering both its security and developmental aspects across local and international dimensions.
Building on efforts to enhance competitiveness and encourage investment in the cybersecurity sector in the Kingdom, the NCA issued a report on “Key Economic Indicators in the Cybersecurity Sector 2025”. The report covers a number of indicators, most notably: the size of the cybersecurity market, the sector's contribution to the GDP, key workforce indicators, and other metrics that reflect the sector’s growth in Saudi Arabia.
The report was prepared in collaboration with specialized consulting firms, stakeholders from the public and private sectors, academic institutions, and cybersecurity experts. During the study, best global practices were followed, in an effort to contribute to the development of the cybersecurity sector in the Kingdom and support entrepreneurs and investors in the field.
The size of the cybersecurity market in the Kingdom in 2024 reached SAR 15.2 billion, with a growth rate of 14% compared to 2023. This represents the total spending by entities operating in both the public and private sectors in the Kingdom on cybersecurity products, and services. Government entities accounted for 32% of the total spending, amounting to SAR 4.8 billion, while private sector entities spent SAR 10.3 billion, representing 68% of the total expenditure. |

The contribution of the cybersecurity sector to the Kingdom’s GDP at current prices is approximately SAR 18.5 billion. Of this, SAR 9 billion represented direct contributions from cybersecurity product and service providers, while SAR 9.5 billion resulted from indirect contributions. This contribution accounts for 0.40% of the Kingdom’s total GDP and 0.71% of non-oil activities. |
