As part of the program aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia’s media sector, the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) held a cyber drill with a number of incident response teams from the media industry, on Tuesday, 10/10/1441 AH (corresponding to June 02, 2020).
The drill was built around a simulation of cyber incidents that may face the media sector, with participants following a framework of standardized procedures and responses. By doing so, the teams were able to exchange experiences on ways to respond to incidents and, learn how a coordinated response to cyber threats can be put into practice. The drill was followed by a final workshop, during which the results were reviewed, and the most important areas requiring improvement highlighted and discussed.
It is noteworthy that NCA is working to enhance defense capabilities in government agencies and raise readiness against potential threats. NCA has recently held a number of virtual cyber drill for various government agencies in Saudi Arabia’s most vital sectors.
