The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has concluded the third edition of the “Cybersecurity Training Program for University Students,” an initiative aimed at enhancing national talent and preparing students for careers in cybersecurity. The graduation ceremony was held at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and attended by numerous officials from both the public and private sectors.
During the ceremony, NCA highlighted its strategic efforts in building and developing national cybersecurity capabilities and executing training programs aligned with the needs of Kingdom’s vital sectors, noting that this Program represents a public-private partnership designed to support and empower national talent, thereby contributing to strengthening the national cybersecurity ecosystem.
This Program comprised four (4) stages, including specialized training courses, cybersecurity exercises, and an intensive summer camp at the University of Glasgow in Scotland designed to build scientific knowledge in cybersecurity. It also facilitated the training of over 2,000 male and female students from cybersecurity-related disciplines across universities in the Kingdom. The ten-month initiative was delivered in collaboration with KAUST and NCA’s technical arm, the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).
This Program aligns with NCA’s strategic objectives to develop the cybersecurity sector and human capital. It focuses on several key domains, most notably network security, cryptography, malware, incident response, social engineering, and threat management.
