The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has launched the “Global Summer Research in Cybersecurity” initiative, which aims to empower promising research talent in areas of national priority in cybersecurity, and develop advanced research and innovation skills in the field. This contributes to strengthening cybersecurity knowledge, in line with global developments and opening broader horizons for pioneering cybersecurity research and innovation.
NCA noted that the initiative is part of the “National Program for Research, Development, and Innovation in Cybersecurity,” one of the key enablers for anticipating cyber challenges, strengthening scientific research, and advancing promising innovation in cybersecurity. Additionally, it acts as a part of NCA's strategic initiatives to develop the national cybersecurity sector and targets undergraduate students and recent graduates in cybersecurity and related disciplines. The first cohort will run for 10 weeks in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, under the supervision of leading international experts and researchers specializing in the field.
The “Global Summer Research in Cybersecurity” initiative offers opportunities to join summer research programs at the world's leading universities in cybersecurity, contribute to the development of research projects, and gain insight into the latest innovations and research proposals in the field. NCA invited students to register for the initiative through its website by the end of Sunday, 13 Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 1, 2026.
