In Collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, NCA Announces the Launch of the First Cohort of the “Global Summer Research in Cybersecurity” Initiative

The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has announced the launch of the first cohort of the “Global Summer Research in Cybersecurity” initiative. The initiative aims to upskill research and innovation pioneers in areas of national priority in cybersecurity, developing their advanced research and innovation skills and their knowledge to keep up with global technological advancements, opening broader horizons for innovative cybersecurity research and technology.

NCA announced that the first cohort of the initiative will run for 10 weeks in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University in the United States through its 2026 summer program. A number of national undergraduate students specializing in cybersecurity will participate in the program under the supervision and guidance of pioneering cybersecurity researchers and faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, to develop their advanced research skills and contribute to promising projects. This collaborative initiative aims to transfer knowledge and enable the development of innovative technologies in alignment with global trends in cybersecurity and related fields.

The “Global Summer Research in Cybersecurity” initiative is part of the “National Program for Research, Development, and Innovation in Cybersecurity,” one of the key enablers to achieving foresight into cyber challenges, strengthening scientific research, and advancing promising innovations within cybersecurity national priority areas. As part of NCA’s strategic initiatives to develop the national cybersecurity sector, this initiative offers a unique opportunity for students to participate in the top global summer research programs and contribute to the development of advanced research and innovation projects in cybersecurity.
