His Excellency, Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Mazyed has extended his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense (may god protect them) for the royal trust and the royal order of appointing him as Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) at the rank of a Minister.

His Excellency has expressed that he is honored by the royal trust, and asked God to help him and NCA’s employees to meet the Leadership’s expectations, and to grow the cybersecurity system in this beloved country.

His Excellency also appreciated the Leadership’s unlimited support to the cybersecurity sector since the establishment of NCA as the competent authority and national reference for cybersecurity, and the establishment of the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), the technology arm of NCA. These steps have resulted in the transformation of this vital sector into a successful, leading model worldwide. A sector that was commended internationally and ranked in very advanced global rankings, one of them was achieving the second rank globally and the first rank in the Arab world, MENA, and Asia in the Global Cybersecurity Index in 2020. He added that NCA would keep working under the supervision of its Board of Directors to build the cybersecurity sectors in both the security and economic aspects, as well as its many different national and international aspects, by reference to Vision 2030 and its goals.

His Excellency, Eng. Majed Al-Mazyed has held a number of supervisory positions, last of which was the Deputy Governor for the International Cooperation in NCA, and before that, Deputy Governor for Technology and Infrastructure, then Deputy Governor for Communications in the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC). He has contributed in the development of many cybersecurity and technology policies and guidelines. His Excellency also represents the Kingdom internationally in the International Communications Union as a Chairman of Council Working Group on International Internet-related Public Policy Issues (CWG-Internet) since 2009. He also held the position of Councilor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Board from 2018-2020, and was voted Vice Chairman of The Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the year 2014-2015.

Eng. Al-Mazyed has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (MS&T), and a Master Degree in Engineering Management from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). He is also an MIT Sloan Alumni after completing a number of executive programs.
