The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), in cooperation with the Saudi Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), have announced launching a training program for the qualifying and employment in cybersecurity (CyberPro+). The initiative aims to qualify university and college graduates in cybersecurity and related fields, and equip them with the necessary skills for cybersecurity jobs through an intensive training program that is implemented in partnership between the National Cybersecurity Academy and the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE). Such initiative is an activation of a cooperation agreement that was signed last February between NCA and HRDF to prepare a national workforce in this important field. It also contributes to achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 vision by developing the national workforce, qualifying it for the labor market, and raising participation in said market. The National Cybersecurity Academy oversees this program as part of NCA’s efforts to qualify the workforce and build specialized cybersecurity national capabilities to meet the national needs in this paramount field. CyberPro+ targets 500 fresh graduate trainees in cybersecurity majors and related fields. The graduates undergo training for 6 months that include specialized training sessions, cybersecurity exercises, internships with potential employers, and cybersecurity tests for professional certifications.
In order to support the trainees in obtaining job offers after finishing the program, both NCA and HRDF have started coordinating with all the national entities to benefit from this program and meet their job requirement needs in cybersecurity through attracting the program’s graduates. NCA and HRDF invite fresh graduates from Saudi colleges, universities, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques scholarship program, and related fields to apply for CyberPro+ and benefit from it. Registration and obtaining more information about CyberPro+ is possible through the Academy’s website on this link https://ncac.edu.sa. The last registration date for the first class of this program ends on October 11, 2020.
This program is an extension of many initiatives launched by NCA earlier to qualify the cybersecurity workforce, including the scholarship initiatives which consisted of 250 students to study in outstanding international universities abroad. Its target is 2500 students in the span of five years. Additionally, the CyberPro initiative has already offered over 2000 training opportunities, which benefited cybersecurity employees in 137 national entities, and trained 450 fresh graduates from the computer and cybersecurity fields.
