
NCA has issued the Saudi cybersecurity workforce framework (SCyWF), which deals with the cybersecurity workforce in the Kingdom and outlines categories, specialty areas, and job roles.
This framework defines the job roles in each category, as well as the job requirements such as knowledge, skills and capabilities. This framework was prepared in accordance with the best international practices, and the nature of demand on cybersecurity jobs in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (SCyWF) is among NCA’s efforts in building national cybersecurity specialized capabilities, partaking in preparing educational and training programs, preparing professional standards and related frameworks. As this framework is concerned with cybersecurity jobs, their categories, defining job roles for each category and describing job roles (tasks, knowledge, skills and capabilities required). This framework is also a reference manual to preparing, developing, attracting and managing cybersecurity workforce, in addition to defining the job and training requirements in the field. It was developed by the NCA and with the cooperation of a number of experts and specialists in different national entities.
The Saudi cybersecurity workforce frameworks aims to build unified terminology to define job roles in the field of cybersecurity, in a way that enhances communication and builds content in the qualification and management activities for the specialized workforce in the field. It also works on coordinating the educational and training programs’ outcomes with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required for different job roles in cybersecurity.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi cybersecurity workforce framework (SCyWF) includes 40 job roles dispersed on 12 specialty areas and 5 job categories. Each job role is defined with a description of required tasks and a list of the required knowledge, skills, and capabilities to perform these tasks.
